Awesome issue. I wasn't super excited for this crossover/event at first, but after reading this, i can not wat. I've been following X-Force and am reading my buddies pile of Cable to get ready, but i was really happy they did a great job of setting up the story. Knowing Deadpool was going to be involved one way or another, i was not expecting him to show up in this prequal issue. And I don't think he was ALL that well written, it sure as hell was alot better than the Annual last week and the Thunderbolts issue this week. I really liked the Deadpool line "Where did you go? I was waiting for you for a reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaly long time." Thought it was very Deadpool-ish and refreshing. I am not that familiar with the character Stryfe, so it was kind of a bummer that the issue was so great, that i didn't feel the full force of the cliffhanger. But i'll be wikipedia'ing for a bit after I finish this.
Mike Choi and Sonia Oback's art is amazing. I love how gritty it is, especially since they are travelling through all the post-apocalyptic times and places. Does a great job setting the feeling for this story.
Art: 5 - Excellent
