X-Factor used to be the go-to book for Marvel if you wanted to parade your elitist hipster idealism in front of your comic book friends, but somewhere along the line, maybe it was Rahne's pregnancy, maybe it was the train wreck storyline with Darwin...
Now, however, X-Factor seems to be regaining its momentum. Are we back to the glory days? Not by any stretch of the imagination, but this issue does a great job of rekindling that spark of enjoyment.
Here we see Madrox himself playing the role of the dupe and every death sends him to an essential "What If?" spin-off. This time it's a "What if Wanda said 'No more humans.' which comes with the awesomeness of a Deathlok Captain America.
X-Factor has never been a book acclaimed for its art, but Emanuela Lupacchino and Guillermo Ortego keep things rolling along well and should be commented on for their work here. But as I said, the story is what shines now. Peter David continues to do a great job and we'll see what X-Factor holds in the future.
