If the one thing your world was lacking was yet another continuity filled with your favorite mutant team with X in their name (that’s right, X-Force, keeeeeep walking), then I have great news for you.

This is not a First Class or Hidden Years, this is a total reimagining of the X-Men world.  All your favorite characters are here, they’re powers are the same, and they seem to have the same family trees BUT their ages and interpersonal relationships are quite different.  For example: Scott Summers is a first year student at Worthington’s school (that’s right, Xavier is just a lowly teacher at someone else’s school…suck it you nosey cripple) , a school which features Dr. Jean Grey.

There’s all sorts of other tweaks that set this apart from some of the other X-verses.  And I found them all more nod-worthy than cringe inducing.

The art is very poppy and kiddish, reflecting the whole school age vibe.

I would recommend this title both for people unfamiliar with the X-Men, and for people who aren’t going to bitch and moan about how they should have made this exactly like the 616 version.  It’s much more fun than I expected when I picked it up, and I’m very excited to see where it goes next.
