End this storyline, please. It has gone on long enough and it just doesn’t
do anything for me anymore. Half the narrative in this book is building up this
Doomsday with tits character, Genocide. It’s trying so hard to make her
intimidating, it failing to make her interesting. And I personally feel it is a
cheap writing device to compare this character to real world tragedies like
Katrina and 9/11. You never saw people in the Golden age saying how the newest
Luthor plot left a scar like Pearl Harbor or in the 80’s how Magneto’s newest
plot was more devastating than losing our savings in the savings and loan
scandal. It’s emotionally manipulative and cheap and I expect better than that
from Simone. And then on the other end, if you’re going to say shit like that,
you shouldn’t have Diana bitching about maybe killing her.

The narration in
this made it seem like Diana would never take the life of a living being, when
the most character defining moment in the entire time I’ve been reading comics
was when justifiably she snapped Max Lord’s neck like a twig, and Max didn’t
kill an entire mall full of people. As it stands this issue was another in an
over extended story arc that is doing too much to make itself a timeless epic.

Story: 1 - Poor
