I think this issue just about does it for me and this book.  I’ve remarked before that Simone is very inconsistent on this book in terms of cranking out something that is enjoyable.  On something like Secret Six, I feel that she is superb.  On this, I feel like she gives me something I enjoy reading every three or four issues, and that’s no way to keep me reading a book.  There are definitely things I like.  I like the art.  I like Wonder Woman’s “relationship”, and the dynamic therein.  I liked the reveal of who the “Manazons” were.  In fact, I really liked that.  I even like the acknowledgment in this issue that Wonder Woman’s secret identity is silly and largely pointless.  The problem is that those elements are all that I liked, and the taste of each given is far too little.  I can’t hang on any more waiting for revelations, such as what the deal is with the true power of the lasso, which is dangled as bait here yet again in a “I don’t have time to explain” plot device.  Worst of all, I don’t give a flying crap about this villain.  So, in the end, ho hum.  Maybe I’ll be back on this book sometime later, if I hear it’s getting good again.  But seeing as how it’s been about four or five months since I felt this was even worth 3 stars, I’m not holding my breath.  See you on Secret Six!
