Wolverine #5 was a great conclusion of the fun “Wolverine Goes To Hell”
arc. If you haven’t read it, the title is quite literal…Wolverine’s
soul gets stuck in Hell alongside many of the people he either killed or
knew before they died. All of this is going on while a demon is using
Wolverine’s body as a human vehicle to murder people associated with him
left and right. This arc started out a little weak, but it quickly
turned into an interesting way to have a retrospective of Wolverine’s
past. Think of it as an evil version of “This Is Your Life”. We’re
really lucky to have Jason Aaron writing this title, since Wolverine’s
solo adventures haven’t been this fun in quite awhile. The art by Renato
Guedes is kind of on the ugly side, but seeing as how a majority of
this first arc took place in the barren landscape of a demon populated
Hell, I’d say it’s quite a nice fit. Pick up this trade when it comes
out. I don’t want to spoil too much, but Puck becomes the ruler of Hell
at the end. If that doesn’t get you curious, then I don’t know what
will.
