It took me maybe half of the issue to realise that this wasn’t Jim McCann and David Lopez, and when I realised it jarred me and left me feeling bitter towards the book. I have no problem with Duane Swiercznyski and Manuel Garcia, it’s just that I was hoping this would be a consistent follow-on from Hawkeye and Mockingbird. The issue itself is actually a lot of fun; the majority is taken up with a gigantic action sequence with enemies that are preying on the minds of the heroes. The mystery of villainous Ronin’s true identity really is engaging throughout, while the story and art complimented each other wonderfully throughout. Again, my only major gripe with this is consistency; I’d have liked for a completely McCann and Lopez mini-series so that it doesn’t look like a fill-in when you put all of these McCann series together, but for a single issue it was still just as good as the previous one.
