First off let me say I’m not a horror fan. I don’t like horror movies and I don’t read horror comics. But then there’s welcome to Hoxford.

On our good friends at iFanboy’s recommendation I picked up the first few issues of this series and I was hooked.

The writing was impressive and the art truly unique. So this week I’m working through my stack and there it is, Welcome To Hoxford #4 waiting, lurking for me. I intentionally put it at the bottom of my stack because 1- its some freaking shit and I didn’t want to read it straight off, and 2- Its been so damn good that I was hoping it would be as good as the first 3 issues.

You know what, it is.

Again, Templesmith knocks it out of the park with his art. The pencils are amazing and the colors add an air of forbidding and foreboding that is palpable.

The story is a very solid conclusion to what’s been set-up in the earlier issues. Ray is one of the scariest characters I’ve read in a long time.

This is a movie waiting to be made, and I can assure you I won’t watch it. Too damn scary, but this book has just been great.

I highly recommend it.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 5 - Excellent
