I’m a big supporter of the New 52 initiative, but there is a side effect to this that has me a bit ticked.  Instead of all of these books going out with a big bang…they seem to be spinning their wheels until the #1s kick in.

I enjoyed the War of the Green Lanterns overall and I have been looking forward to Sinestro getting back into the Corps since Blackest Night (which is where I thought it would happen), but this Aftermath issue is just full of Lanterns bickering, Guardians acting high and mighty, and Sinestro being portrayed very much against his character.  When they address the fact that Sinestro has a green ring, he seems to be scared and whines to the Guardians that he wants it off.  He’s been building to this since the Sinestro Corps War, so why would this bother him?

Although I do love it when analogs appear from other comic companies, such as Green Lantern Charles Xavier, complete with mental powers and high-tech wheelchair.

In the end, I’m really looking forward to the new #1s but I wish the creators would use this known restart to pull out some really wild and exciting stories before everything changes.  Seems like a missed opportunity.
