What a completely awesome crossover.
I never really gave a damn about Darkhawk. Other than his appearances in New Warriors, The Loners, and Secret Defenders (yes I read SD what of it), I don't think I've read a book with him in it. It appears his one defining characteristic is he's angry. Angry at you, angry at your mom, angry angry angry.
This issue gave a comic booky reason why he's angry, and I guess it works, and I hope it means that DnA's magic will be used to move him past the angry.
This book had the same issues that X-Men Legacy had this week, with not a lot of real action so much as talking heads. I know that it gives an added dimension to DH that they will probably exploit, but, as good as the book was, it doesn't really make for riveting reading. I've been loving War of Kings, but if you're going to have miniseries tie into it, I'd like some action beyond what we already saw in the main series. Still this book gets better with each passing issue.
I really like the art, even though it did that stereotypical shadow conveniently hides my junk while I jump around bit. I liked the design on his skin. I really liked how the Skrull looked.

Right on about making Darkhawk relevant. Talk about reviving a C list character. I’m continually impressed with Abnett and Lanning.
