I appreciate that DnA are writing one of the best space epics in the
history of the medium. I appreciate that there is a small, but strong
contingent of Darkhawk fans out there. I even appreciate that his
origin is convoluted and completely ripping it down and starting from
scratch is just about the only way to make it make sense. It’s just
that the actual writing of this seems really trite and cliche. Don’t
get me wrong I really am loving the other 3 books involved in this
crossover, but this is just the weakest and every big twist feels like
it is written on the wall in huge neon letters. It isn’t foreshadowing
as yelling this is what I’m going to do from the end of the hallway.
Hell, I hope I’m wrong, but I’m willing to bet Chris becomes a master
of the Raptors and either manifests a new armor or finds a way to purge
the old one and take back over his old armor. The Annihilation
crossovers have made me interested in the negative zone so I’m going to
stick it out, but I just wish there was something that wasn’t so
obvious down the road for this series.
