With the announcement of the new tv series, I was given a great oppurtunity this week to share this book with some non comic fan friends. Of course, as good as it was, this issue was a horrible jumping on point.
We had the end of a character’s long decent into madness. We had
regular people eating people, but no zombies. We even had Rick spouting
some relatively banal action movie pablum at the end. I thought it was
bad ass, but the people I showed it to were wondering why it had such a
huge following. Ah well, I liked it a great deal. The art was really
good. I especially loved the camp fire freak out. The look of the wound
was rather gruesome.
