FORM FEET AND LEGS … AND RUN AWAY!!!

I went back and watched the first team-up of Lion Voltron and Vehicle Voltron to give myself some perspective on Voltron DOTU: A Legend Forged #1. In a nutshell, the production value was very low on both the cartoon and the comic. The cartoon was fun and had a cohesive theme that made it enjoyable to watch. There isn’t much beyond a selection of good covers for the comic book that made it worth picking up.

I am usually very forgiving with a comic book on which I’ve spent my hard-earned money. Not only is the artwork atrocious, but there are so many aliens using human colloquialisms that suspension of disbelief is a struggle at best. The pacing of the story is slow and plodding, so that you get less development in one issue than you get in the first five pages of a good story. There is a lot of superfluous discussion and exposition that doesn’t add anything to the story, and I am generally disappointed with the low quality of production that went into this book.

Story: 2 - Average
Art: 1 - Poor
