This isn't the type of book I would normally read and I wasn't sure what to expect, but as a fan of Nelson, I wanted to give it a try. i was more than pleasantly surprised. During the first few pages I felt like I had missed some piece of the story but the more I read the more things unraveled. Some of the dialogue seemed to current for this story, but the more I got to know Valen the less I cared. Nelson did a great job pulling me in and I found myself wanting Valen to win. Scalera did fantastic work on the art. You wold not expect a book about a dead king to be so bright, but it is and it worked. The real treat though was the action sequences. They felt as if I was watching a 1970's Kung Fu film. Well Done to Nelson & Scalera. I look forward to more. facebook.com/SurfingAliens
