This was another multi-layered, fascinating issue of a stellar book. Carey and Gross just keep revealing more each month. Here we get to see another side of Wilson, someone with actual feelings. I thought it was really cool how his story unfolded with an old-school noirish spin. We are joined by our favorite trio as they uncover the mystery right alongside us. With three overlaping narratives the story never felt too dense, it flowed from one page to the next. This was in no small part due to Peter Gross’ awesome pencils. From the present day, to Wilson’s past, and into the pages of “The Tinker”, he never missed a beat. The splash page showing Miri working on her comic was so well layed out, I would love to read a full issue of “The Tinker.” So as not to rattle on too long I will just say, “The Unwritten” is one of the most complex yet satisfying reads on the shelf today. If you love stories, it is hard to think of a better comic you should be reading, it might even get you to read something you have never heard of before due to a random reference. I enjoy this book even more with each successive issue, and I hope it never ends!
