Before even opening Uncanny X-Men #525, I already had a sense of disappointment only because Fraction and Dodson has not yet satisfied me with one good read. Matt Fraction continues to write characters with a limited scope of the X-Universe and Terry Dodson's interior artwork does not fit at all with dramatic scenes. Too much lustrous coloring coming from Terry's wife Rachel. However their art style worked beautifully when they did the cover art and interiors for DC Comics' Wonder Woman in 2006-2007. Also I think the cover art by Adi Granov is very eye-catching. To be honest I thought Iceman was the Silver Surfer at first. In my opinion, maybe Granov should have put some spikes on Bobby. Even the ice he was riding on looked like the Silver Surfer's cosmic board. I am glad that Fraction and Dodson's run on this crossover is finished and hope that Marvel will soon hire a new creative team to write and draw this X-book.
Really not much occurred in chapter ten of Second Coming. The beginning of this issue continues to where chapter nine left oft. With glowing red eyes, Hope expresses her hatred towards Cyclops and yells at him for killing Cable. Meanwhile in San Francisco, the Fantastic Four and Avengers examine the dome. Inside the dome, Storm, Psylocke, Surge, Fantomex, and Iceman are defeating several Nimrods with combined efforts. Namor manages to take out three at one time, but calls for assistance as five more Nimrods appear.
In the future, Cable, X-Force, and Cypher arrive at a Sentinel Processing Center. There they find a large wall with a poster spread across it. The poster tallies those mutants who have been slain. X-23 tells them that in order to prevent this future from happening, they must kill everyone responsible for the mutant deaths then return to the past to do the same. Immediately X-Force takes down several anti-mutant units. Cypher uses one of the units and tells them that Bastion is sending the strongest Nimrods in groups of five. Back at Utopia, Cyclops gives Rogue the task to protect Hope and tells Charles Xavier to bring in Legion so that he can fight on the X-Men's side in battle. Outside the dome, Thor and the Thing manage to weaken the dome by fifteen percent. Iron Man concludes that it will take them a day to get inside the dome. The story ends with Dr. Nemesis guessing by the next two hours everyone inside the dome will be dead.

I find it greatly disappointing that the X-Office seem so very happy to let Fraction continue on this title long term. I find his two dimensional character takes, and the constant lack of ‘Team’ in this team book to be most depressing. I’ve always felt he’s a bad fit to the title and nothing from this crossover has changed my opinion of that.
