The story in this issue is fine; it begins to deal with Magik’s pains from last issue and it takes us (and the X-Men) into Limbo. But the real star of this issue is Frazer Irving. I’m not keen on some of his individual figures (Magneto’s face looks like a shriveled potato in one panel, and I didn’t know that was Agent Coulson at the beginning without the dialogue pointing it out), but beyond that OH MY GOD! He does a beautiful two page spread near the beginning, and his use of color effects is phenomenal. Between the subject matter and the art, it reminds me of something you would see in the Marvel or Epic Magazines of the late 70’s and 80’s. If only for the art, check this book out.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 5 - Excellent

  1. If only for the art, check this book out – done. I don’t even read x-books.

If Irving can make me buy a Skeletor comic, I can certainly buy this no question.

    • Check out the panel in “Best of the Week” – that’s the two-page spread I was talking about. And that’s not even some of the best work…
