This is a series that keeps delivering. We get more of the same, but thats a good thing. In this issue we have a full on Dethlock assault, Fantomex taking a beating (and slashing), Archangel getting mind controlled and Deadpool saving the day. This series so far, has this interesting feeling, where each adventure seems to take place in this “bubble” outside of space and time. A total Thunderdome, where the X-Force always finds a way to win.

Writing, Pencils, Colors, Letters, Covers… I feel like a broken record, but this book is so consistently good on all levels. This is once again one of the best books on the shelf and is a POW contender every week. You shouldn’t need a review to convince you, but if this isn’t in your stack you’re missing out big time.

Story: 4 - Very Good

  1. Each arc is only a couple of hours Remender said, so this book, unlike something like Avengers is at least plausible.

I don’t really mind Wolverine syaing he’s going on a Starbucks run and then saving things for all eternity, afterall time in The World is sped up (or slowed down) compared to real life anyways.

I’m not a big every-piece-needs-to-fit-together type though. And I am enjoying this series. There’s some kind of funky tone going on that I haven’t seen in a mainstream book in a while. It’s kind of like cool clammy dread mixed with adrenaline?

Makes me want to buy Fear Agent. Enjoying Ribic’s work til Opeña is back too. Not as many “Whoa…” moments but still well done.

  2. @ResurrectionFlan  –yeah i agree…there is a weird tone and ambiance…almost surreal. In some ways and i think this is because of the art, it almost feels dreamscape like.

i guess by the bubble i meant that all the locations, don’t seem like “real” places to me…i think that adds to the surreal-ness.
