Uncanny X-Force has quickly become my favorite X-book. Sam Humphries has made me interested in characters I have no interest in. I’m talking about Storm, Puck, and Spiral. I’m glad he’s also including Fantomex more than I expected. Fantomexes? Fantomexs? Fantomi? Whatever the plural of Fantomex is. I do want to know just how evil is Evil Fantomex though. Impatiently waiting to find out. Psylocke is one of my favorite X-Men (is she still a X-Man?) though I don’t know much about her past so I liked the 1 page recap of her early life before she gained her mutant powers. In fact I was surprised to learn that I know more about Spiral than I do about Psylocke. There’s a good mix of action and plot progression in this issue. Spiral suggests to momentarily aid Storm and crew to rescue the girl named Ginny, much to Puck’s disapproval. I chuckle in my mind every time I see Puck cause he looks like a mini Stone Cold Steve Austin. What are the chances a casting director for a X-Men movie read this book and thinks the same thing? Speaking of looks, this book looks f*^king fantastic (wish I could get a black bar over my swearing like in the book). From page 1 to the mindscape pages this is just candy for the eyes (also known as eye candy). The fight scenes are awesome and it seems Humphries has wisen up to the fact that fight seens are just so much cooler when subway trains are involved. Skyfall, Spider-Man 2, The Matrix, need I give you more examples? And I loved the bizarre cliff hanger ending. Let’s get weird!
