This is the best comic book currently being published by Marvel, period.

The scale of the threat from one of the staple X-Men original member that has been presented over the run of this book is really something to behold; I never had a chance to read the original storyline from the 80s when Apocalypse first turned Angel into one of his horsemen, yet I know that the repercussions of that event have been an important element of the character ever since. But in my opinion they have never been explored with this depth or level of impact.

At the end of this issue the outlook for the team is almost at its worst and I can’t wait to find out what comes next, and besides the already teased Nightcrawler who else from the AoA timeline is crossing over to 616 to help save the planet?

Remender is quickly becoming one of my favorite writers and I think I’ll follow his work with great interest.
