Destruction has two names; Hazel and Cha-Cha.

Sure they look cute and cuddly, but once you get to know them and discover what they do for a living, they are absolutely terrifying.  And whatever you do, don’t feed them sugar!

What can I say that hasn’t already been said about this series?  I’ve loved The Umbrella Academy since it’s first introduction on Free Comic Book Day all those many years ago, and halfway through the second volume, it has shown no signs of slowing down.  Unfortunately, many people see the name ‘Gerard Way’ and judge the book by it’s cover, not giving it a second thought.  Those people need to be rounded-up, shot, burned, and fed to mountain lions.

This series is nothing but good, zany, superhero fun!

It’s not just the writing, it’s the art too.  Gabriel Ba really brings it to this series and makes you want to gobble-up every page.  Especially in this issue where we get a beautiful black and white heaven, with only the one character in color.  And Hazel and Cha-Cha?  They look too cute to be killers.  They look like a mix between Reservoir Dogs and Sesame Street!

The art, the story, the colors, they all blend together beautifully to bring Way’s masterpiece to life.  I would highly recommend this series to anyone who loves comics.  Because it doesn’t matter if you’re a Marvel or DC person, this series definitely has something for everyone.

Oh and by the way, Bob Dylan even has a cameo.
