Let us start with the positive.  At least Ultimates 3 has been on time so far.

This arc, in which we're more than halfway through with this issue, was supposed to reveal big secrets behind the origin of Ultimate Wanda and Pietro Maximoff.  The big secret turns out to be that they're pretty much the same as their 616 versions except more into having sex with each other.  While Millar hinted at the fact that the twins had a... pecular relationship, Loeb went and spelled it out in big neon letters, because if there's anyone who makes Mark Millar seem sutble it's Jeph Loeb.

The Ultimates was one of my favorite titles, and I put up with the delays because I really had grown to like the world and the characters that Millar and Brian Hitch had dreamed up.  This isn't the world, and these aren't the characters.  Whereas Millar's version of the Avengers was a modern "realisitic" take on them they were not bad people.  They were not evil or cruel people.  They were still heroes, just flawed ones in the best tradition of Marvel.

Loeb's characters are all just assholes, and none of them are people I want to spend time with.  No wonder Pietro sleeps with his own sister, she's the only one not in this book who isn't a complete jerk.
