The Ultimate Universe is actually what originally got me into comics (Ultimate Spiderman with Bendis and Bagley), so I have been very excited about the “reboot/not reboot” of the Ultimate U coming this fall. I saw the preview images for this book a couple of weeks ago, and I wasn’t exactly blown away, but now that I’ve read the whole book, I can definitely say that I’m extremely excited about this series. Hickman used this first issue as a great jumping off point for the universe, and I think that he laid some extremely solid framework with this, and as I closed the book, I had a huge grin on my face, and I already wanted the next issue in my hands. Esad Ribic’s art accompanied Hickman’s storytelling brilliantly, and his style along with Dean White’s colors brings incredible life and excitement to the book. Overall, I give the book about 4.5 stars out of 5, and I can’t wait for the next issue.

Story: 4 - Very Good
