I've not been much of a fan of the Ultimates. I read Vol. 1 and 2, and they were decent but the characterizations have always seemed strange to me, especially Ultimate Cap. So after that I just read Ultimate Spiderman and was happy. When I saw that Hickman was taking over, I rejoiced because Hickman's crazy Sci-Fi plots are like crack to me, and so far between this and Hawkeye he's delivered. And Ribic's art and White's colors make this book sing. But I feel like maybe Hickman got a lot of criticism for how long it took Fantastic 4 to get going that he decided to trim this series down. Because there's a week between the fall of Asgard last issue and the assault on the City here, were large parts of Germany were destroyed including Berlin, and we don't see any of that. What happened in that week that prevented Fury from attacking? I'm hoping when it's over, it'll make sense, and for all I know, we had to have this issue first before we could see what happened in that lost week. Maybe we never find out.
