Bendis brings it again with Ultimate Comics Spiderman 8 (even though that is an ungainly title). The continuing struggles of Miles Morales as he tries to find balance between his superhero persona and his family problems are very compelling. Added to the fact that Miles is barely a teenager and this is a very interesting conceit for comics. The juxtaposition between Miles’ uncle and the dead Peter Parker’s uncle is unstated but felt heavily in the book. If there is a single complaint it would be the brief appearance of May and Gwen in Paris. I hope this series does more to flesh out Miles Morales’s world without too many overt ties to Peter’s. i think he is an interesting enough character that he can stand alone.
