With this issue the miniseries finally starts to show the hype for it was well founded. Here we learn the details about how the title character came back to life. His resurrection is certainly plausible in Transformer terms, but the tone and manner in which they are explained lends a certain mystery to them. It feels like there is something else going on, and we and Ironhide are still left in the dark. I imagine this is how it felt to watch Lost, having plausible answers given to you in such a way that you’d always be questioning them. Anyway a surprise appearance by not one but 2 classic Transformer characters, flawless art and the promise of some serious Decepticon smashing in the next issue have me eagerly awaiting the finish of this mini.
