This book is still a solid enough read and I’m glad that I stuck with it. Just the same, given the ending we get here that it’s possible The Thinker’s latest gambit could result in all the Horton Cells in the Torch’s body breaking down and leaving him just as dead as he started the series out, I haven’t decided yet if I would mind too much if that happened.

Of all the things I like about this book, I’m not sure how big a part of that The Torch is himself. So far there’s more depth to his grown-up sidekick Toro, and it’s neat to see the reactions and interactions the Torch has with people like Johnny Storm – it’s particularly neat to see Johnny Storm with a little bit of hero worship for The Torch, considering that’s where his own nickname as the human torch comes from. It’s a nice little nod from the present to the past. At present though, five books into the eight issue run, I don’t know that I feel like I’ve had any sort of connecting with the Torch yet.

Still, this is very a solid book and it’s a shame more people aren’t checking it out.

Story: 3 - Good
