Lots of people have really enjoyed the latest stories in Thunderbolts: the villains on the run, bouncing through time. I loved the time travel tales myself, but missed Jeff Parker’s “real” team line up, including Cage and Songbird in the central story. I’ve wondered many times… why these characters? Why did Parker create this random crew? I wondered this even while I was enjoying stories with Merlin and old London detectives.

But in this story, I really enjoyed watching Parker do great things with these characters, from Moonstone’s scheming to Centurius’ genius. And the twist with Fixer’s story was just superb. I’m always a sucker for great time-paradox stories. Thake that with the strong use of characters, and Declan Shalvey’s solid art, and this is my pick of the week, and a book I’m glad I’ve stuck with.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good
