I picked this series up on a whim with issue #150, and I haven’t been let down since.  This issue was fantastic and establishes this series for me as something completely unique.  We find our heroes battling the monsters as we did the last issue, and the deceit and backstabbing lead to some incredible team moments in the book.  I don’t want to spoil anything, but the ending of the book is great.  The decision that the characters make truly sets this book apart, and it’s one of the reasons why it can be such a compelling read.  Parker does an excellent job of reminding us that these guys are NOT heroes.  And that’s not a bad thing.  As usual, Kev Walker does an amazing job with the pencils.  This is probably my favorite issue so far, and I can’t wait to see next month’s issue.

  1. Welcome aboard. The series has been great, pick up the early issues in a quater bin or when the trade comes out, The series has been great.

  2. Man I couldn’t agree more.  It’s not exactly thought provoking but in my mind this kind of fun takes some real craft, and both Parker and Walker make me smile month in and month out.  Brilliant.
