Of the 5 Siege books this week, this was the only one I really liked. I hadn’t read Thunderbolts in forever, but I nonetheless found this a ripping good read whose tension reminded me of some of the great Suicide Squad stories of the past. My main complaint about the other SIege issues this week was they all seemed to be set prior to the main Siege series (i.e. pointless) or during even that we’d already seen in the main Siege series (i.e. repetitive). This side mission was a welcome change. Nicely written bunch of scumbags, nice cliffhanger at the end. Art was…not great, but was serviceable. And Hogun the Grim (my favorite of the Warriors Three!) got to do something badass!

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 2 - Average

Comments

  1. I very seriously doubt that the description of this comic is correct in saying that it was lettered by Geoff Johns!  However, I thought the story was good, better than most of what Parker wrote for "Agents of Atlas," and the art was excellent.  I especially liked the medieval interiors.

  2. Average issue. Very. Parker clearly has little love for the characters he’s writing, or continuing Diggle’s plots. Scourge was not meant to be leading this team. That’s supposed to be Black Widdow II. Who was unvieled in Diggle’s final issue. Never to be acknowledged again.
