I don’t think I can properly express how enjoyable these Thor one-shots have been in the middle of all this Secret Invasion madness. These wonderful stories really help to bridge the new era of a solemn God of Thunder and Asgard on Earth with the good ol’ days of Shakespearean speech and battles with frost giants. The storytelling of Matt Fraction is his best-ever and the artwork is beautiful, as it has been with all the Thor one-shots. Plus, we get the rare treat of Dan Brereton, which is enough to make me empty my wallet at any given time. This is the example of what comics can really be when they are not trying to tie into a larger storyline – FUN.

  1. okay I want it now. Sign me up as a card carrying member of the "Fraction Faction".

  2. For those not familiar with Dan Brereton, see Nocturnals or Giantkiller (either pick is absolute perfection).

  3. I thought this last issue of Nocturnals wasn’t very good

  4. @k5blazer Do you mean Carnival of Beasts or Nocturnals A to Z? What didn’t you llike about it? Have you read Giantkiller and what did you think about it?
