I haven’t read Thor since JMS rebooted the series. I know the general story and have every plan to get the Omnibus soon after it comes out – but regardless, I don’t really know the story of Thor as of today, I don’t know how Asgard got to Broxton fully, I don’t know all the supporting cast of characters and before this comic – I didn’t really even know I liked Thor as a character.

This comic got me excited in the same way that Hickman got me excited when he took over Fantastic Four. A big idea, a balls to the wall exploration of what this mystical world can be. Thor seems more accessible, more fun, and ultimately more epic than any other aspect of the comic that I have seen.

I’m not a huge Fraction fan – but I don’t dislike him either. But with just one issue of Thor – this series has quickly catapulted to among my very favorite superhero titles out now.

Just really exciting where this might lead. I’m reading for the journey.

Ps. Art is great in places and lacking in places. Refreshing overall though.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good
