If a sentient packet of Frank Zappa-brand Skittles decided to take copious amounts of LSD and Shrooms, and proceeded to write a comic book in the written tradition of a British Stan Lee, the Zaucer of Zilk would be the outcome.

With poetic psychobabble as text (think less meaning than the most abstract Morrison ideas), this story tells of an ordinary man, living in a dark and gloomy world, who rediscovers his true self in another dimension.

If you’ve seen anything by Brendan McCarthy, you already know his art is the closest thing to literal eye-candy. You also know that he is THE definition of psychedelic comic-booking. If you haven’t seen anything by him, you deserve to see what else a comic book can be (although, I’d try Spider-man: Fever before this. I can already tell that book is better than this book will be).

Note: The use of mind-altering substances may enhance your reading experience.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
