I have really liked the direction that Kirkman has been pushing The Walking Dead in recent months. It’s still very decompressed but Kirkman has a way of building up stories and ratcheting tension that are then released with a superbly turned plot point.
The introduction of Jesus’ group and community is supposed to deliberately mirror the Governor and that whole sordid storyline. Even the look and appearance of Jesus mirrors the Governor. The handling of Rick also underscores the two sides of the character: his heroism and his naivete. The twist at the end with a truly unfortunate incident foreshadows a darker world and a seemingly intricate set of groups and misjudgements.
Very good read. Even when I am tempted to trade-wait it is stories like this that keep me reading the Walking Dead every month.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good
