Man, I love me some Sean Murphy, and he is at the top of his game on this comic! I loved the first issue, even though I still have a problem with some of Snyder’s dialogue. It never quite flows right in his comics, and comes off, I don’t know, unnatural at times? I also sometimes get annoyed at his formulaic way of throwing little “did you know?” factoid thingy’s in every comic, if you know what I mean? But I need to get over that because it is always interesting and it ALWAYS adds to the story. But you can almost expect every issue he writes to have one or two. But his plotting is perfect. You always get your money’s worth with a Snyder book and that is a wonderful thing. I’m so excited to see where this story goes, there’s some great folk lore going on here and again, the art alone is worth the admission and deserves multiple readings and study. The ocean is kind of an underused environment in comics, and this has a great “Abyss” vibe going on. Beautiful stuff!
