I should go back and do a count of the number of times ol’ Shady has said “where was I?” in this series. This is a book that delights in straying from the topic at hand, and it may end up being one of the great shaggy-dog stories of comics. Now we’ve got a Catalan vampire superhero, a Bangladeshi-born Spanish version of Batman with a reptile motif, and, oh yeah, the Shade. Even Shady acknowledges that he’s a “supporting player” in this story, but if he doesn’t mind, I don’t. There’s some stellar Javier Pulido art to look at while we wait for the Shade to become the hero of his own book again.
