I’ll admit, this 12-issue run of The Shade is a little puzzling to the inner Starman fan in me. Sometimes it’s brilliant with connections to the Shade’s family and other heroes with Robinson giving amazing descriptions and inner monologue.

Then we have issues like this where the art by Frazer Irving is stunning, but I’d be hard-pressed to tell you what the story was about. Right in the middle it gets very wordy, and normally that’s not bad for James Robinson, but I felt my interest start to slip.

Still, can’t wait for the next issue which is what a lot of us have been dying to see… the origin of The Shade!
