This is a very solid, in unspectacular series. Ed Brubaker always keeps his stuff under the radar, so this historical trio through the founding of the modern Marvel universe doesn't feel like a must-read, per se, but if you loved Bru's Cap work over the last five years, this is in your wheelhouse. Steve Epting's art is top notch, as usual, and Dave Stewart's color palette evokes wartime New York. My only reservation is that this lacks sensation, especially with all of Bendis's Dark Reign/Siege action swallowing up the limelight. Maybe it was the wrong time to release this series?
