The MAN THING has always been regarded by alot of folks as a second rate Swamp Thing . I have always loved the big guy though so when I saw this on the newstand I knew I had to check it out .Afterall it was written by Steve Gerber , how could it not be good . Well I was right the story was just great . Now if you are expecting the super hero slam bang action story then you had best look elsewhere . But if you are looking for crisp amazing dialogue and a slow burn of a story then pick up the rest of this mini series .
Now I wished I could say something good about the art but I can’t Kevin Nowlan has really dropped the ball on this one . The art is so bad that I almost can’t tell the difference between the animated charecters and the living folks . I don’t mind experimental art as a rule , but this stuff just seems lazy . If the back up feature had not featured John Buscema art work I would have been ticked off . I love the story in this little gem but the art is really not good . If you can pt up with it I think you will really like this book .
