Unfortunately, Silvestri has had some unexpected health problems that have clearly affected his ability to work on this title.
Consequently, Yes, there are a great many artists on the book as a result, but I think that the art is still remarkably consistent regardless–which is actually kind of an incredible feat in it’s own right.
This issue really boosted my interest in this story, with some really great brand-new characters that only Aaron could come up with;in fact, this title is further proof of how funny Aaron can be. This book is fun and over the top in the very best way. The unchained imagination of Mr. Aaron and the insanely over the top new character designs give this book a real indie feel; indeed, it’s clear that Aaron was granted quite a bit of autonomy on this book as he is hitting a MAJOR reset button for Hulk.
Long story short: if you dig books by Jason Aaron (and who the heck doesn’t?) you should really give this a look…. And the art is really quite good despite the gripes of those who just cant wrap their heads around multiple artists filling in.
It’s Jason Aaron’s take on a crazy book about monsters and he’s not holding back!!! Nuff said.
(PS– this was available accident on comixology for a few hours last week! Read it without even knowing I was getting a sneak preview!)

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good
