Abnett & Lanning are delivering a whole package with this book.
Their ability to craft a world (or universe) that already seems so familiar in just four issues is to be applauded.

The story being weaved is always hinting at a something bigger without ever leaving its readers in the dark. The cast of characters, their powers and their relationships are being drip-fed at a pace that is satisfying and always gives you just enough to chew on. The book’s design — from the Quantinuum adverts for things as trivial as water to the back matter interviews with the cast pulled from fictional news papers and magazines — further add to the world building.

At its heart this is a superhero team up book. As a comic reader as of the New 52 I feel more involved in this world — in just four issues — than I do with any of DC’s new-reader friendly titles.

Oh, and this issue opens with a Talking Heads reference. Frag yeah.

Story: 5 - Excellent
