This mini-series started out strong and ended up mediocre. The use of possible science and the interesting life lived in space was fascinating but nearly disappeared in issue three and four. The things that made the book interesting and different were replaced by uninspired plot twists an overused tropes. They were so overused that the final lines of dialogue weren’t clever, they were cliché. I can no longer recommend this series unless it’s on sale or has a bunch of extra content in a collected edition (which I would rate a 3/5).

  1. Unfortunately, I have to agree with this review (although I would have rated the art higher).

The series felt like it was leading somewhere, but in the end…pft! The series needed more breathing room. Four issues just wasn’t enough to fully explore the characters and their world.

  2. I enjoyed issue #3 the best of the series, actually 1-3. I felt a little let down by the ending too, not that I wouldn’t want Byrne to still give another High Way series a go.
