Coming back from the deep pit of suckage, "The Fury of Firestorm the Nuclear MAN" (as it is now titled on the cover and because of the fact that there are no longer multiple Firestorms within this), is written and drawn by Dan Jurgens with ink finishes by Roger McCarthy. Mr Jurgens for the third issue in a row, has tapped into the elements that make the Firestorm character work like they did back when he was first created. We now have a Student/Mentor dynamic with a slight twist with Ronnie Raymond (high school Jock as the physical body of Firestorm and Jason Rusch, high school honor student as the "floating head" brains of Firestorm merged together. This book is fun goofy science fiction super hero goodness as it should be. All that and the new fate of Captain Atom is set into motion here. If you once read this book looking for the Firestorm you loved and were turned off by the terrible dialog, over the top drama, and muddying of an already complex character you got in the first few issues of this DC new 52 reboot, then please jump back in. Pick up Dan Jurgens run, issues 13 to the current 15 because the fun is back!
