I’ve never been more conflicted about a book — the art is among the best being featured monthly in the industry, but I’m bored to tears and a little confused by the story. I don’t know how much longer I can continue to be interested by the Steranko/Eisner-like layouts if this keeps stretching on and on.

Story: 2 - Average
Art: 5 - Excellent

  1. I only read #1, and felt the same. Gorgeous to look at, total bore to read.

  2. C’mon this issue had an awesome as sh*t moment! (actually 2) When we discovered that Barry’s neuron’s instinctly vibrate at Flash’s speed to protect him from a bullet to the head was one, and his friend who’s some sort of regenerative assasin was tortured by losing limbs only to find that his discarded limbs slowly regenerated a whole clone overtime(that die off in the order they came to life) was the other.
Issue #3 also had a great holy sh*t moment when Flash (ala Kitty Pride) vibrates an entire Jetliner through a bridge to avoid a catastrophe!
You guys owe it to get (reread) issues2-3! and digitally they are $1 buck less!! DO IT……..NOW

    • You’re kidding right? All those moments you mentioned were pretty lame. I mean i really try not to get caught up on the science of superheroes but i found neurons instinctively vibrating to be stupid (neurons can’t have instincts), the regenrating assassin was ok but the vibrating the liner was silly. this whole tendency to make the Flash more than a guy who runs fast is ruining the integrity of the character. It’s not even consistent with the retcon that his speed powers are actually time based powers

    • I’m cool with the fact that they are trying to give the Flash a new facet. I like that he is MORE than a guy that runs fast. Maybe its because of the awesome art and layouts but I like what they are trying to do character wise.
Neurons cant have instincts? sez who? anything is possible in fiction right?

    • @Bluestreak: The Flash has been more than a guy who runs fast for over 50 years. He’s been vibrating molecules since the Silver Age.

  3. I’ve been loving the series. I haven’t found the story too boring. I felt this issue was not the strongest of the bunch. The art was still great and the paneling was still strong, but it was a little too character driven and little light on action. It sort of stole some momentum from the story. Overall, I’m still happy with the series and look forward to the next issue.

  4. i feel the same way. That art is amazing, but the story…totally forgettable, and i mean that literally. I don’t remember a single thing from the first 3 issues. I enjoy it enough when i read them, but the story just doesn’t stick with me which is unfortunate.

Because of the art and the creator, i might go back and try to re-read them in one large chunk. If that doesn’t work, then “its not me, its you” time to breakup.
