When writing Young Avengers, Allan Heinberg said something along the lines of, "when you write a Marvel book, at the end of the story you put all the toys back in the box in the same condition so someone else can play with them." I really like that mentality and but while Young Avengers was a relatively limited run, Brian Michael Bendis has been writing the Avengers non-stop for years, making changes, stirring up fans and more. We haven't had a chance to see an ending where Bendis puts the Avengers back for someone else. In a final splash page, Vision and Wasp are back. Scarlet Witch and Wonderman are on friendly terms once more. Wolverine, Spider-man and Luke Cage are somewhat in the background. While I've loved the Bendis era, this issue brings things mostly full circle (The Door!) and while not the most mind blowing comic on the shelves, it had bits and pieces for Avengers fans across time. The art is mixed, and the multiple artist fight scene has been done better in Bendis books before. Regardless, we bid a fond farewell to this era and I'm glad I was along for the ride.
