The Alpha storyline is over and it goes out with a whimper rather than a bang. At the start of this arc, it appeared that Alpha would be a mainstay in the Spidey-verse but given events here that seems unlikely. The resolution of the Alpha situation is way too fast and way too deus ex machina. We are constantly told that Alpha is dangerous and that he’s Spidey’s sidekick but those two things are never obvious. Instead of dealing with the main threat in the issue, Spiderman spends his time, where else? Saving Aunt May. I’ve seen this routine before.
There was a good peek at an upcoming threat but this story wrapped in such a way that it feels cheap. Hoping Slott gets back on track for the march to 700.

  1. Wish they would just kill Aunt May. She’s really got her nose in Peter’s business. What’s with the demands that he call her all the time. Just check Facebook, old lady!
