I’ve never seen the TV show on which this series is based, but this comic in itself as a one-shot was just plain genius.

The Phantom Stranger gathers all the Robins from past, present, and future in order for them to save Batman’s life. The plot is basic, pointless, and amateur, with a slight deus-ex-machina ending that my five year old niece could dream up; but despite all that, this issue carries its light weight flawlessly. The interactions between the Robins, and the shallow explorations of their individual roles as Robin is pure gold.

I bought this out of nowhere and was extremely satisfied with the story I got because its exactly what I expected. I only wish that this story was expanded into at least a 3-part story-arc.

Story: 5 - Excellent
