Aaron’s Thanos is a unique character in comics, in that he has absolutely no business being good. Thanos is one of those characters who I really had no interest in ever learning their entire backstory, because why would I? He’s the Mad Titan and is obsessed with Death, good old fashioned no sympathy type of Villain. Jason Aaron, however has other plans for him. He aims to make the character have depth and feelings, and make people feel sorry for him. If it was any other writer I don’t think this would work nearly as well, and that’s not even mentioning the art, which is also outstanding from page to page Bianchi is a really great choice for this particular story. At this point I’m kind of waiting for the inevitable reveal about who Thanos’ ladyfriend is, I’m having a great time on the ride.
