IDWs Ninja Turtles was the series that reminded me of the reason I read comics. Because they should be fun. Here we get to see the big showdown General Krang featuring some great action scenes, riffs on a dozen different incarnations of the franchise and a conclusion that assures that the evil Krang will be back.

With the upcoming arc looking like it will feature a mirage style story, it was nice to have one that felt like a lost episode of the 80’s cartoon. The art has been excellent and seeing a planetary battle fought with what are clearly takes on the old action figure vehicles has been a blast.

Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys a comic book that doesn’t feel the need to pretend its a serious drama.
