Oh this comic makes me so happy. As I have said many, many times now: Waltz, Eastman and Duncan are doing something really special with this book. It has a certain pop to it that I just can’t resist. By this issue it should be clear that this isn’t the Mirage book of the old, nor is it the cartoons and movies that made the Turtles so culturally ubiquitous for a while. Instead, it is a great combination of the two. It’s got enough gritty, street level fighting and enough “cowabunga” and “dude” thrown in as well to keep us all happy.

I work at a comic shop and I have become absolutely evangelical about this book. If you walk out of the shop without TMNT in your hands, then I have failed.

This is just good comic bookin’. It is a book that has something for absolutely everyone. I cannot recommend it enough.

  1. I’m with you all the way dude, I feel sorry for those not reading it.

  2. Completely agreed on all counts. The book is a great combination of old and new.
